Default Replace Door Post Pillars on my Discovery

Hello all. I am looking for some help/instructions on how to replace the left and right door post pillars on a '99 Discovery Series II.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Rich

Are you talking about the black plastic trim pieces on either side of the windshield, or interior trim pieces, or...?

Black plastic pieces just behind the passenger and driver side rear doors. They actually sit behind the triangular glass.

Hopefully someone here as replaced these and can give some pointers. All I could find in the RAVE manual was "Remove RH or LH sill finisher." under B/C post assembly R&R.

Good luck, and hopefully someone else will be of assistance!

Thanks. The originals broke off over time and I just ordered new ones. The issue is that I can't figure out how to tighten the bolts (located inside the plate). I think I need a special tool but just wanted to confirm.

Well, I figured it out. For anyone interested you have to remove the inside quarter panels. They are the ones directly opposite the bolts you are trying to screw in. You don't need to remove them all the way just enough to access to bolt holes. What you will see then are three round pieces of tape covering up the holes. Remove the tape and you will be able to use a ratchet to remove the bolts and secure the new ones.
