Default Replaced Condenser Fan

So I just did my first bit of work on the Disco; the electric fan was seized so I replaced it.

I went with the VDO/Siemens PM9116 suggested at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Everything appears to be functioning properly, paper towel sucked towards grill, kicks on a little before 212. I've heard a several people talking about how loud their electric fan is once it kicks on but I haven't noticed that. You can hear it over idle so I guess I'm wanting to make sure it is the correct model / moving enough air.

My Ultra Gauge came in today so I had a chance to hook it up as I ran down the road and measure temps. I was running 208-212 at 50-55mph. Which I know is still warm. My LR 180 thermostat will be in today ("on the truck for delivery") so I will be draining the dex and replacing with the green stuff. Possibly Water Wetter as well if that's the consensus.

The fan clutch seems to be good; it stops in well under one rotation when warm.

Also, I'm going to pick up an IR temp gauge this evening and check the radiator top-to-bottom. Am I missing anything else or does this sound like I'm heading down the proper "road"?

i can never hear my electric fan. I have to visibly check to see that it is moving.

it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and give that radiator a good flush

Thanks, Dusty1. That makes me feel a bit better on the volume.

That's the "spin" check when warm, correct? If so, it definitely stops in well under one revolution.

As soon as my 180 thermostat gets in I'm going to flush the system and replace the orange with green coolant. Disco Mike's post seems to recommend Water Wetter as well.

some say that good results come from the water wetter. personally, I saw zero effect. but imo it is worth a shot, plus I have heard of no ill effects with the product.

That was pretty much the way I looked at it; no more than it costs and if it doesn't hurt why not?
