Default Replacement fuel pump - no NAS EVAP sensor

I've just bought a replacement fuel pump from an eBay seller whose fitment guide said it was a match for my 2000 DII... but on arrival it turns out not to have the ODB evap sensor or a hole for it, so we have a hose and a wire to dispose of...

Which is a better solution: connect the sensor and just lay it in the well of the mount? Or don't connect it? Which will **** off the ECU less?

I bet on "connect it"; was I wrong?

There are two different fuel pump part numbers. Simplest way to deduce it is: with SAI = WFX101060 and without SAI = WFX101070

Sounds like you don't have SAI and received WFX101060. I would recommend getting the right part. You'll probably get an error code if you don't hook up that sensor.

I'm expecting it to throw codes, but those are nothing new on my truck. :-}

My question is -- since it's terribly impractical for me to push it from 3 weeks down into 4 -- is it actually going to *affect the engine running* either way, and which one worse?

My intuition is that it won't, and the ECU will just be annoyed at me.

" My intuition is that it won't, and the ECU will just be annoyed at me. "

That's optimistic at best. IMHO, and as Jeff said get the right pump. You will be glad you did in the end.
Or you could give the wrong pump a go, but just remember to have some Tequila standing by to numb the pain. Good Luck!
