Engine is in! Just waiting for the coolant hoses and radiator to be installed. Should be started for the first time tomorrow! More to follow....

I also have the H180 cam and love it. No issues in about the same number of miles.

Engine was started and the cam was broken in for 20 minutes at 2000-2500 rpms. I was told it sounds a bit lopey at idle, but absolutely purrs off idle. I can't wait to drive it! Picking it up Thursday morning!

You need to take more pics...

Glad she's in and running. Most performance cams will give you a lopey idle, I would expect nothing less.

Picked up the Disco today. It is so smooth and quiet. On the drive home I closely monitored the temps. 93°f and I was seeing 195-201 on the highway. On uphill grades at 70mph, I was 203-210, once hitting 215 for a few seconds. Back roads, at 35-50mph, I was 188-199, perfect. Idle at stop lights 203-206. It's running warmer than my old engine. Nothing that scares me, as it is 93°f and humid out. The whole cooling system is new, bled properly, oem 180 stat, and a new heavy duty fan clutch. Hottest temps are at 70mph uphill on the highway. I'm wondering if the Kent cam runs a bit warmer? Any input is appreciated. Again, I'm not really concerned due to the high outside temp today. More to come...

Even a properly bled system may not be fully bled. You can gain a few degrees by topping off through the bleed screw when the engine is stone cold first thing in the morning. Even a tiny amount of air in there can equate to 3 - 5 degrees.

At the very least its worth a look into the bleeder screw (when cold) to see if there is a tiny bubble there or not. In other words, worst case, you'll validate that it was bled fully.

I agree Dave. I plan on doing just that later tonight or tomorrow am. I think I may have to get used to a bit higher temps on the new engine though. Time will tell.

I've always had good luck when I plug the overflow hose coming out of the coolant reservoir with one finger, then poor your coolant in the jug with the other hand. This allows a stronger flow directly into the engine, pushing the air out of your bleeder port. If you don't plug that overflow line, anti freeze leaks out if you pour too fast. Try it tomorrow A.M. stone cold engine. No jacking, no lifting of the overflow reservoir...
