Keep us posted on how it works out. If they have any feedback on the stability of the 4.6 blocks that would be good to know from a machinist perspective. I would guess they have a decent amount of experience with the LR V8. They also do the o-rings at the bottom correct?

HI, thanks for response. I didn't see your post till now. Thats who I'm going to send it to. They seem to know alot about this motor. I got it all apart No. 1 rod bearing was completely gone from rod. Million pieces in oil pan. The rest were pretty worn and I think one rod is bent.

Anyone have any ideas on a container to put block, crank, rods/piston in? Should I build a small crate, plastic tote? Thanks guys!

Why are you sleeving it? 03's didn't really have loose sleeve problems. 04's didn't really have problems until the overheated a couple times.

I purchased this one because my other 2003 had the slipped sleeve issue and it started losing power and anti freeze. I figured since I have to check block I might as well have the sleeves replaced with some flanged ones. A lot of money "for me" but I hope it will be worth it in the long run.

If you don’t suspect a slipped liner on your replacement block, you can pin the sleeves for almost free. I think there are some threads on this forum explaining how.

That's something I forgot about. Thanks, I'll look into it.

Anyone know how far a crank can be turned down? Mine is pretty gouged and I can't find a replacement on line.

If it is just the block, it might be light enough to go UPS. I bet you could find a plastic tote and wrap it up well to ship.
