Default Rewiring so fog lights come on with brights

I've updated the front bumper on my Disco to a Hard Labor Creek Fabrications winch bumper and installed a pair of Hella Driving lights.

Rather than having them come on with the dims, I'd like to have them come on with the brights as I only run them when out in the country or on trails.

Has anyone made this mod? Any tips or advice?

I had my '03 programmed through the BCM to allow the fog circuit to be on at all times (as long as the parking lights are on) No wiring changes needed

That would be your easiest bet since the relay is triggered through the body control module, however an easy / rough fix would just be to run an additional relay.

Signal wire would be from the high beam bulb wire, and output would be to fog lights. Wouldn't need a diode since even if they were on with low beams, they'd cut off through OE relay when going to high beams (and if high beams are off, your new circuit is always going to be open leaving original setup intact).

I had to do something similar to this when I did the 03-04 facelift headlights on my '99 - BCM turns off low beam output when you switch to highs due to the OE bulb on the 99s. With the independent high/lows on the new headlights I had to run the same relay setup as above to keep my low beams on when I switch to highs.

OK - So... What do I need to be able to reprogram the BCM?

A specific type of scanner?

A computer program and OBD2 Cable?

I don't want to have to go to the dealer to get this accomplished - $$$$$

This page may help you wire in the lights to your brights using a standard relay. I'm not sure if your truck will have the stock aux light wiring, but I think it will. If so, it should simplify things quite a bit.

I too recommend a BCM reprogram to accomplish this.

There was a made in China version that a lot of folks on here were raving about, if you search for the thread you'll find the vender, make/ model, etc.

Are you saying there was a MIC BCM reprogramming tool?

I've searched and can't find it. Any hints?

I think it is a reference to that thing that supersport was showing us how to use.

They are talking about the Autocom. Not sure if it reprograms or not.
