wow, really confusing....lol

Arent are lug nuts an acorn style? When you tighten the lugs one by one, they center the wheel to the hub/axle and hold the wheel centered? You cant throw the rim up on the hub, and have it automatically centered by the hub before you bolt it down can you? Maybe I need to go pull a wheel and see....That is the difference between hub centric and lug centric

the wheel centers on the hub flange, you can buy hub centric adapters for fit wheels with a large center. such as later model wheels but you usually have to use the nut that came with the wheels

Wow, if I had to buy adaptors, I'd probably come out better just to find some 16" LR wheels from a local salvage yard.
Shipping is the killer when it comes to wheels.

the hubcentric adapters are not that pricey they a just a ring the sits between the hub and the wheel, not those $1000 wheel adapter that you see for sale.

something like these: Hub Centric Wheel Spacers Adapters ¦ 5x130 ¦ 71 5 CB ¦ 14x1 5 Studs ¦ 3 16" 5mm | eBay

hc rings are cheap and work. not needed if you don't have vibration from a lug centric set up. on my lc set ups I am sure to tighten down nuts in criss cross pattern. I haven't had a problem

I feel pretty stupid...I just looked at a factory pic of a disco 2 wheel, I forgot our lugs are collared, not acorn style, the steelies I want take the acorn nuts (100 bucks for the set! stupid)...just erase everything I wrote...dumb. I'll go back to my cage

hmmm.

So first I have to find wheels that are 5x120mm pattern with the right offset to clear and then buy the rings to match the hub center on the truck and center of the wheel that I will be using?

I guess I need to do more reading.
