You get more sidewall with the 16” tires. Being realistic though the old draw to 16’s was tire choices for off road at good prices. While 16’s are still a bit cheaper there is a ton of options available for 18’s now so that part has really been negated.

For me I would run the 18” aluminum factory wheels, they are robust and look great on the trucks.

How do you think they handle though?, and also are the steel wheels supposed to be stronger?

I have wheeled both and they both do a great job. The factory wheels are probably stronger but the steel wheels can be fixed if you fold a bead on the trail.

If you dig the look of the steel wheels than by all means go for it they are not a bad choice. Lots of people prefer the steel wheel look, I know I do on the earlier trucks. It’s all about putting your own personal flavor on a Land Rover. It’s one of the cool things about them.

I have both steel wheels and aluminum wheels for the LR3 currently. I run the steel wheels for the increased offset for the 33x12.50 tires. I prefer the look of the aluminum wheels however and would have ran them if I could with tires that wide.

Searched for 16’s all over the net and images, couldn’t find a decent offset or any at all. I ended up settling with Method Wheels.

i found tons of 18 but I didn’t want 18’s.

Method Racing Wheels 701 I believed.

They’re 16x8, I think +8 offset. Just google it, seems to be one of the only wheels out there for these patterns in 16. I couldn’t find any other ones except steelies.
