Won't go on a rant but came home to this on my front porch. Gaskets falling off, O2 sensor holes unprotected, scratched up, not sure if welds damaged.

Tried to call Rock Auto but their phone support is a NIGHTMARE. Very hard to get a human being.

Finally spoke to a guy, could not say for sure how many gaskets shipped. Told me all they do is slap labels on and ship. They don't tape up or protect exhausts. He could give a crap less about anything I had to say.

So, just FYI, I've ordered plenty parts from them, but this was down right crap service at it's worst.

Now, back to life and fun. :-)

before you remove your current exhaust, I would try threading an 02 sensor in all 4 ports to make sure that are not damaged. It would suck, taking the old one out, to find out one is messed up, then having to put the old one back in.

 

Good idea. I'd have to pull one from my truck to test. I don't have any extras or new ones to try. Wasn't planning on replacing them because they all test well on my OBDii scanner.

 

O2 sensor threads are the same as an 18mm spark plug. That could be a cheap/easy way to check them.

 

Now that is good to know. :-) I did a quick search and it seems the standard size is 18 X 1.5 metric. I'll check that out for sure.

 

Get you an 18x1.5 tap and run it thru them.

I hate shipping y pipes because of their shape. UPS and FedEx treat items as irregularly shaped as these with no respect. I typically wrap a y pipe in about 150 feet of 1/2" bubble wrap with a support between the two downpipes just in case. It looks like I'm shipping a weird dinosaur bone. Expensive, yes, but I've never had one arrive in pieces.

 

I ordered a similar Davco unit from eBay arrived to my Dads shop just as unprotected as yours. Caught me by surprise when I saw the UPS driver hoisting this thing through our door.
