Hey guys. New to the D2 forum. Owned mine for over a year. 2004 SE. Got a question. Looking for options on cross bars on the roof. Think there are 2. Don't want a full rack but need them to attach to the rails. Any thoughts would be awesome.

 

I went around with this recently. Those rails are costly, look god-awful, and after you put a basket on them they are noisy. I found a guy on the classified section of this forum that makes this




It costs about 400 shipped. He said he was 6 weeks out and I will have to paint it. I like it because it is over the rear and it is small. Also looks fairly noise-free.

 

I have the above rack and love it. Been running it for a couple years on the Discovery and now the Defender.

 

So ArmyRover, did you paint it or powdercoat and is it noisy?

 

Rustoleum black spray bomb. I didn't notice noise unloaded on the Discovery. Defender i couldn't hear it if I tried lol

I bought these a month ago and used them to haul my kayaks around. Worked pretty good and easy to install. The only con ive seen so far is they whistle a little bit.
