I think bill was about 1100. There is one of those small & very good shops close by to me, I dropped it off and asked if they could please get to it at there leisure - they had it for 6 months (our winter up here so I didn’t much mind)
I had stripped the interior to redo the headliner so I had the roof rails exposed for easy access. They removed the alpine glass & installed new seals after paint. They Also cut the windscreen seal out of the way. I had to source a genuine windscreen seal (rovers north) & a when new windshield installed I had them install the seal.

I was thinking of doing this as well. I would go black on the roof. But I would look into a wrap. Probably cheaper look better

I read you had the Alpine window's seal replaced? where did you get the seals from? I need to get my rooftop worked on sooner than later, is far worse than yours though, with a couple of rusted areas, one in front area that reminds me of Gorbachev everytime I walk towards it. When it rains water ingress from rear sunroof -I was able to fix the front one at one point. But now that I want to have it painted, one of my issues is the alpine seals, they were dried out and coming apart, so I applied clear sealant all around them. They have held up, but not appealing. Thanks.

Yes. And they look factory. The glass company the body shop used to remove & reinstall with new seals did the work. I only sourced the front windshield seal myself.

I will call abs find out - bc my rear quarter glass seals really should be replaced.

the rear windows and alpine windows are just installed with window sealant like more modern windshields are. If they had rubber seals, they’d look like the very back window with rubber around the edges of the glass. That’s how D1s were and they changed to sealant for the DII

According to rave, it's half correct, so we're both right, and both wrong. alpine windows comes with a seal new attached, but the window does need to be attach with sealant. it does not show as a separate seal from the window itself in the parts book. I'm not sure it's available.

I got the name of the glass company today which removed & reinstalled the alpine glass with new seals. I have a call in and will ask them why and where was there source to install as such.
it looks factory & is clearly the same oem seal as on my other disco 2’s ( both alpine and rear quarter) I’m curious myself.
