Default rookie question

I was greasing my u joints and found this looks like a bearing (picture) under my disco when I crawled back under to change the oil. It was lying on the driveway near the front u joint. I am not very mechanically knowledgeable but have been learning as I go and have done all the work on my land rover for the 3 years I have owned it. With much help from this site and the rave manual. I'm wondering if this signals a bigger problem that I need to take care of. Thanks for your help!

You sure it fell off the truck? What year and mileage? I am guessing a D1...

There are bearings with ***** about that size on the front and rear output shafts of the transfer case.

I does look like a bearing but where it could be from I don't know. It is not from the UJ's, they use needle rollers.

In my experience with bearings they do not look like that if they just fell out, they will be bashed and scored and probably in half. I am betting that it is from something else completely unrelated to the Rover. Plus if by chance it was from the Rover what ever it came form is going to blow up real soon.

I get the same thing!
Scratching my head until I worked out my cheap Garage Creeper is falling apart.
Do you use a cheap garage creeper? If so it'll be the casters!

I do not use a garage creeper. Thanks everyone for your input and if something blows up in the near future I will let you know where it came from. Cheers
