Default Rough engine and missing

I am new to the Discovery forums. Is there a way to search archives? I have a 2001 Disco II with 104k. The service engine soon light cam on and now the engine is running rough and missing occasionally, also every now and then the ABS light, Incline light and one other comes on too. Is there a way to pull the codes?

Thanks for any help.

Some parts stores like schuck or autozone lend out there code readers. I would not do anything until you pull the codes. These readers will only tell you about the engine. As for the other lights you need to go to a Land rover specialist, they have a special reader.

grussel, on the top of the forum page there is a "search" tab, you can then search for the "3 amigos" which is what you have.
As for the rough running, you need new plugs and wires. Your check enginhe light will have codes for bad oxygen sensors and random mis fires.
Replace the plug wires with Magnecore plug wires only or you will continue to have the mis fires.
www.atlanticbritish.com. You can use any spark plugs that you want.

I had the codes read this morning and were:
P0305 - cylinder 5 misfiring - I will check that and get the Magnacor's. I saw 7mm on AtlanticBritish, but I also read on here get the 8mm. Is there a big difference?
P1668 - Could not find that one. I had a front marker light lense full of water and a broken bulb. Could this be the code for the circuit shorted on the running light?

Thanks for your help. I have used the BMW forums for years with much success and this forum is great.

7MM is the stock size that came with your OEM wires. They will work just fine, but most people grab the 8MM for the extra heat protection, and correct me if I'm wrong but I think they carry more current too. If you do go for 8MM they may be a little hard to put in but they'll go with some persuasion.

And, the 8 mm will with stand more heat, thus lasting longer. For the few extra dollars, call Tony and order the 8 mm wires, 650-365-4145.
As for the brakes, do your brakes squeak, is so that is your problem, they need to be replace with quiter pads so the speed sensor doesn't pick up on the harmonic vibration. Do this soon before your 3 Amigos comes on and stays on then it will cost you an extra $100 or so to have the codes read and cleared.

Do you have to pull the intake to change out the plug wires. It looks pretty tight back there behind the intake.
