Default Round 1: Disco 1 - Tornado 0

Well, I got the pan back on today. Looked like everything was making good contact. Got $40 worth of tranny fluid, a giant syringe, and some rubber tubing. I get to putting the fluid in, and it starts to dribble out. I start the rover, and it gets to making all kinds of horrible noise. It keeps this up for a second or two, and quiets down. I run back around, and keep putting fluid in and it starts to dribble out again.

Here is where I made my mistake. I got up, turned it off, look under, and three is a stream of tranny fluid coming out the fill hole. Thinking I could get the plug in, I tried, and failed. I finally stuck my finger in there and got the hose back in and started it up again. Pulled the plug, and what do you know! No leaking. So I repeat. I put the plug in again, no problems. Shut it off, let it sit for a few minutes, and what do you know, it starts leaking at the gasket right below my patch.

That concludes the end of round one. :-(

I would clean all around where the pan meets the trasmission, go around the whole thing with the JB Weld, just seal it all, you aint ever going to remove that pan again so why not?
Seal it, fill it, drive it.

You know spike, I really like your logic. Hell, I can still drain it and fill it so why not? This thing could drop in a week. Who knows? I can tell you though...it shifted gears just fine when I was filling the case. The weird thing was that I didn't get anywhere near ten quarts in there. I only got...maybe 6 and a half. Of course, about a gallon leaked out when I failed to get the plug in quick enough, but the cooler must not have been empty. IDK. I know I am going to go in for round two this afternoon.

Makes sense that the coooler would have fluid now... if the pump loses prime, it can't push the fluid out. I am getting really interested in this...Go try it now...=)

But...but I'm tired! I just got off work! Besides, I am waiting on the driveshaft that was provided to me by two very fine gentlemen, Spike555 and Andy. I owe them both a stiff drink and a firm handshake. According to the FedEx tracking site, my ds is on a truck and on it's way to be delivered. Just trying to stay up for that, then I might crash for a couple hours.

Yeah, but you could be putting JB weld on while waiting for the truck, and then it will be nice and dry by the time you get up.......(ha ha)

Sleep til the truck gets there and bangs on the door with your DS.
