Default Rover in the snow

Just wanted to say that while safety is always first, it feels good to have great traction while all others are driving so slow in the snow. I know that we all stop the same, when you want to get around 2 wheel drive cars going 20 mph YOU CAN.

Hey man I can relate. I'm new to Rovers having just bought a '99 disco back in September. I've put about 5k miles on it so far and have had no serious problems yet....knock wood.
We had an ice storm here last Saturday. The roads were heavily salted but I purposely drove on a big patch of ice on a wide shoulderto test the tc and abs. I'm sporting pretty much what I would consider street tires.(Yokohama Geolanders) Even with these tires I was amazed at the performance. Usually you are screwed on ice regardless of the tires you have.
We just got our first snow down here in Peoria last night. A whopping half inch!! yippee!
(ain't that something diso mike?!)
I've taken note that you are also in IL....almost WI.
By the way there is a Rover club in Chicago. It's the only one I've found in our state but I'm three hours from you. It also appears we may have identical trucks.

Just remember you are pushing a 5K pound truck around. It takes a little longer to stop... We usually have one lane clear and one lane with untouched snow here. I just stay in the snow lane and proceed like normal. That way you don't risk the 5MPH 1978 Ford LTD driven by a grandma that just couldn't stay home...

I have always found it funny when a Joe Bob is off
in the ditch and stuck with that BUT I HAVE A 4X4
look on their face.

I wish it would snow out here in CO. You'd think since we have mountain and all it would snow just a little.

10-4 on that......there is a hell of a lot to be said for driving skill, on and off road.

Yeah I see these people around here too when we get some snow they're out in their Tahoes or Navigators thinking just because they have an SUV they can drive normally on glare ice only to find that the laws of physics apply to them too. Driving skill still counts for a lot.

Look out your window, we are supposed to get up to 2 additional feet of snow by Saturday.
