I had standard length shocks with my OME medium duty lift on my 87 RRC. Lift is rated at 2", but really delivered 1.5". Wasn't a problem at all.

Sounds like you've had some issues, but to compare RoverTym to Bottorf??? Come on man....

They have been in the process of moving their store over the past few weeks, so maybe give them a break on what seems to be a relatively minor mix up? They goofed, sounds like they are fixing it, so what's the issue? I mean they told you the shocks were on backorder until next month anyways so what are your expectations....

In regards to shipping the incorrect shocks back to them. Once you get a call tag, take it to a FedEx location yourself.

If you used the adapter, the shocks would likely work just fine. The adapter likely drops the top eye at least an inch from where it would mount if you had D2 towers (which you can use on your D1).

Why not take some measurements of full compression and extension between shock mounts, then measure full compression and extension of the shock? That would tell you if it will work or not.

Default Just plain irresponsible...

Seems to me like you had your finger on the trigger and slipped up here Kyle.

Just because you have an easily resolved shipping issue with a Very well known, established and reputable vendor....by your own words... " RoverTym has excellent product (and customer service) reviews in every forum. And I honestly cannot complain about the customer service I experienced when placing the order..." Does NOT justify comparing them to a chronic and proven liar in an open public forum. Do you really think they haven't done any research and testing on the products they sell? Do you really believe they have been shipping out the wrong product for years to MANY Rover customers and no one but you has noticed the "mistake".

I think you jumped the gun WAY too early by not only sharing your experience but also drawing similarity to a fabricator (of the truth) who has screwed many and appears to be avoiding remedy.

RoverTym offered to ship you parts, pick up parts and refund your money all in the middle of a move of their biz. Then you trash them in public???

A forum like this IS a good place to share horror stories AND positive reviews. Do it responsibly and use some self control mixed with patience.

I agree. I may be a little impatient. I'm willing to admit that. And I have already said that the RTE/Bottorf association was incorrect. I decided it is probably best to take down my previous posts until this gets sorted out. I did not intend for my post to be a smear to RTE, that's why I praised them for their customer service the first time. I didn't "slip-up", that was my intention. I guess all will be told today when FedEx comes by. All I know is, I spoke the the driver yesterday and he told me I didn't have the proper paperwork -- actually, NO paperwork. In the end, I have relied on what two separate FedEx facilities have told me and it is inconsistent with the merchant.
