Default Rushing Fluid Sound under center console

First technical post here - thanks for the help up front.

When I do a cold start-up of my 04 Disco SE7 and set off, there is what sounds like rushing fluid under the center console, potentially under the shifter. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks!

I heard that often but mine usually the coolant level is low and air need to escape. But not usually under the shifter.

Sounds like air in your coolant to me. Are you sure it's coming from under the shifter?

It mostly sounds like it is coming from the shifter, but it's hard to pinpoint when driving. And as I've been listening to it more, it makes the sound regardless if it's a cold start or if it's been on a while. I'll just do an all-around fluid check and see if something is too low.

It is almost surely low coolant leaving air in the heater core inside the dash, as others have suggested. But this wouldn't necessarily show as low coolant at the reservoir because air in the heater core is at the highest spot when you are sitting level.

Usually you will hear the sound louder when your engine hits higher rpms or you round a corner. Higher rpms turns the water pump faster.

Hopefully just a loose hose clamp somewhere.

The only water under the shifter is a hose that drips condensation from the air conditioning. But it should just just drop out and in an act of rover genius it drips on your frame and driveshaft next to a hot catalytic converter. Maybe you are hearing the hiss of steam?

That sounds more like what is happening - the higher rpms and going round corners. I have to get some transmission fluid in the beast (it's shifting a little rough) this weekend, so I'll to have a look in there to see if I can figure it out.

Thanks!
