In the event of a MAF sensor signal failure any of the following symptoms may be observed:
l During driving engine rev/min may dip, before recovering.
l Difficult starting.
l Engine stalls after starting.
l Delayed throttle response.
l Emissions control inoperative.
l Idle speed control inoperative.
l Reduced engine performance.
l MAF sensor signal offset.
There are two types of MAF sensor diagnostic check:
l The MAF sensor signal is less than the minimum threshold for specific speed range – the engine must have
exceeded 200 rev/min for longer than 300 ms and remain above 400 rev/min. The signal must be less than the
threshold mapped against engine speed for longer than 500 ms.
l The MAF sensor signal is greater than the maximum threshold for specific speed range – the engine must have
exceeded 200 rev/min for longer than 10 ms. The signal must be greater than the threshold mapped against
engine speed for longer than 300 ms.
If the MAF sensor fails the following fault codes will be produced and can be retrieved by TestBook:
P code J2012 description Land Rover description
P0102 Mass or volume air flow low input MAF signal < minimum threshold, which is speed
dependent
P0103 Mass or volume air flow circuit high input MAF signal > maximum threshold, which is speed
dependent
P0102 definitely sounds MAF related,

P1884 trans related with multiple possible causes.

Do codes/light immediately come back when cleared?

Symptoms other than the codes?
......

First, is your MAF plugged in?

Second, if your MAF is plugged in then you need a new one. Only replace with a Bosch unit as the others don't work correctly 90% of the time. Clear the codes and see what comes back.

Spray the inside of your MAF with MAF-Cleaner spray... and clean the metal electrical contacts inside the plastic plug + MAF with WD-40.

Reconnect MAF / plug, clear your Pcodes, and try driving. Also, if you see rust on the electrical connections you'll need to get it off.

Electrical connections (metal pins) are OK to attack rust harshly.
Internal element inside MAF is not OK to attack harshly...use MAF clear spray only there.

As people mentioned above. Get a CRC MAF cleaner and make sure you spray it really good like dripping to the other side. Dont hesitate on the trigger. Then get a proper contact cleaner aerosol spray and spray the connector really well. Let them dry completely and let them dry completely again. You can reset code or drive it until the code resets itself.
