Very cool. Do you also sell the gaskets to the pipe?

General question... @Extinct @Richard Gallant @The Deputy @Discorama and anyone else

The exhaust manifold to pipe gaskets are cracked down the middle. I don't have the part and it won't show up for a least a week, at which point, I will have to leave the state for 6 weeks. I want to keep working. Is there any harm to me continuing the HG re-install with the old exhaust manifold gaskets and then swapping them out at a later point?

I prefer silicone, last longer and still prevents rust. Also prevents vibration loosening.

Christian from LRTime (Youtube) recommends copper grease all the time. He boasts that he never has problems getting things apart again after he treated the surface with it (he has been doing Land Rover repair videos for years). I think of getting a bottle of it.

My original thoughts were the same, but...when you have a exhaust manifold laying right in front of you...that is the time to change them. Especially, if you are upgrading the quality of stud and nut. Nothing more disappointing, than to install manifolds and a year later have to go back in there and snap a stud.

Yeah, I agree with that. Worth an attempt, but I wouldn't go nuts if one gives you trouble.

Regarding a gasket cracked down the middle: That is not a sealing surface (the Y-pipe side has a gap) so it can be used again. Maybe red silicone to seal good on both gasket faces. Exhaust leaks have been my bane.

I decided to go with the haste makes waste motto and pull the studs and replace them all with new hardware since the manifolds were such a PITA to get to and are right in front of me.... Thank you all for tips/advice
