Default saggy rear

Well, the rear end of my 01 disco se7 sags after I turn the car off. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. It goes away when the cars runs. Any ideas? Leaks? Where are leaks common?

So you are saying your SLS won't stay up????????
Have you checked for leaks?
How many miles on the truck and do both sides drop equally?

Hey Mike. My 99 SE7is doing the same thing. When it is sitting, you can tell that the left rear corner is lower than the right. It also lets out air from that side when you shut the vehicle off. Sort of like hey semi truck releasing his air brakes. I cannot say whether or not it is sagging when I am driving down the raod or not. I also hear some comotion going on back in that corner when I hit a bump or something. Like the shock is squeaking or something. Any ideas?

Try spraying soapy water all over the air bags and hoses connecting to them. You'll see bubbles where the leaks are. I was able to find replacement air bags for my Lincoln at alow price at http://www.strutmasters.com. They have the air bags and related partsfor Land Rover, too.

The noise that you hear when you shut off the engine is normal SLS venting as you get out, not to worry about that.If you let your truck sit for 2 or more days does the truck drop even further, if so, it would be safe to say you may be ready for 2 new bags.

When i bought my D2 i also noticed that there was a sag on the right side after i stopped to look. I brought it to my land rover specialist and he said that he needed to re balance the SLS (or something along with it) He thought the reason may have been because it was sitting on an unleveled hill at the car lot and over time the SLS may have given out on one side. SO bring it in and see what they say.

Your mrchanic may be right but I would try and park it facing the other direction or on level ground and see if it changes over a couple of days.

I had the same problem. I bought my 99 II last summer and by December she was sagging really bad, but would inflate correctly. Then as time went by, she would not inflate at all. I knew it was the SLS and that the dealer also wanted $350 a bag. I got lucky and was about to buy both bags on Ebay for $100 total. They came off a 2001 and they run perfectly. Since then i have seen several bags on ebay....but be careful, they could be defective as well. I was just lucky in my purchase.
