Does anyone have a good hack for the SAI Flex Hose? Mine is cracked and I have it wrapped with electrical tape right now. I just looked up the replacement part and it was over a hundred dollars. Thanks.

What I really want is some hack that does away with the brittle plastic flex tubing. I'm thinking something like the flexible brass gas supply line for water heaters and furnaces. I may have to work on that for a while.

 

sorry, i was thinking of the metal hose that goes to the heads.

 

I just went to the autoparts store and got cooling/high temp rubber hoses that would fit the fitting on the SAI pump and the t adapter.

Has been working fine for 1/2 a year now!

 

I might have some for postage if you give me a pic.

 

I fixed mine for under 7.00 with some 3/4inch Black Heater Hose. Take your cracked/broken line off your D2 and if you can save like 3inches of the straight section with the special coupling that goes to the SAI pump.

Then lube up the OEM straight section of pipe with soap or a small amount of WD40, and slide the 3/4 heater hose right up to the flared part of the OEM hose. Then fit a hose clamp and just snug it up. Then cut to length the 3/4 heater hose (leaving some slack for engine movement) and connect it to the SAI pipe with another hose clamp.

Problem solved and no more OEM plastic hose to fall apart!

 

copper flex lines for water heater supply. You can just sweat them into place.

Barring that, get some high-temp silicone hose and call it a day.

You don't. I would think something like flare the end after you slide on the proper coupling/reducer/ bushings/ etc. you can find everything you need in copper, brass or black at a well-stocked ACE hardware store
