Default SAI system issue....

Guys-

I have a 2000 DII that is throwing codes 1412 & 1415. The SAI fan will whine at a very high pitch when activated at normal cold start-up.

Here's what I have done already:
-Disconnected and Removed the SAI fan
-Inspected the foam filter - it is in near perfect condition !!
-I hot wired the SAI to see if it would still make the high pitched noise. It does not, it's very quiet. Also blows air very effectively with no issue.

What does this tell you ?? Is the high pitched sound the result of the valves not opening, Meaning this is a Solenoid issue ??

Thanks in advance !!
Todd

just realized I put the wrong fault codes in my original post. The codes were a 1412 & 1415

Anyone here have experience with this ??? Am I on the right track ??? Should I first swap out the solenoid ???

Thanks,
Todd

Check for a vacuum leak. That thin hose that runs from the vacuum cannister to the solenoid as well as the valves.
