Default SAI tube thread size

Anybody know the thread size on the SAI tube that screws into the head. I have set of heads that have two of the holes (one on each head) that have bad threads and wanted to see what I could do to fix it. Is there much pressure on those like on spark plug holes? any ideas on how to fix them? two fit tight and two snug up at the bottom of the holes, but are kinda loose fitting untill the last few turns.
thanks

Hey, did you ever find out what the thread spec is? I need to make or buy plugs for it. I'm switching ECUs to one without SAI and I have to get rid of the stupid system.

I've seen people delete the SAI by taking the threaded couplers off the pipe, welding them shut and then threading them back in.

Thanks dux.

My main reasoning for wanting a threaded solution is because I want to be able to switch ecu's quickly at the shop. I'd guess they have a welder, but I'm not certain. I guess I could take it out now and then have a CEL while having the transmission replaced and then drive it the 5 miles to the shop to have the ECUs swapped out.

That should be fine.

Another option would be to measure the tube diameter then buy an NPT tap that would be about that size. Then pull the threaded pieces off the tubes, tap them and thread in a plug then thread the pieces back into the head. Or you could get a compression fitting and plug that you could install on the cut tube, or pull off the cans and bolt a block off plate over the flange, or you could just leave the cans in place because they will stay closed without a source of vacuum.

Hey Ricketytick,

Thanks! Is that the male threads for a plug, or the female threads to cap the SAI extension?

btw, Happy Thanksgiving!
