Bit of a quick update. The work was held up by some shipping issues and some production/fabrication setbacks. I'll post some more pictures and updates as they come along.

Not yet, I had to get off island for a few weeks so my progress went to a standstill. However that does mean most of the parts that I was waiting on are in. I'll post a longer update once I'm back on island.

Tomorrow is the exhaust system. More updates to come.

All of that empty space just begging for a diesel.

Unrelated question, did you have to air your tires down for ease of entry while working on the truck?

The air was let out to lower the car due to the engine not fully clearing. Unlike the Mercedes, taking a hammer to make sure it cleared was not an option!

So today was some what of a let down, started working on getting the exhaust out of the way, but ended up having to move it out of the shop to make room for another car that needed to be taken care of today.

Anyways, in case you were interested, this is what a D2 looks like with no engine.

The picture doesn't give justice to how much it is leaning.

I have disco ii and om617. I'm in! I'd like to know where you got the adapter plate and what transmission you are using. Those have been my biggest hurdles.

Edit: I was reading on my phone and now see that you had the plate fabricated and are using the stock auto. I still want to subscribe so here I am.

Fear not, this swap is still very much in progress. The Adapter plate is being finished up as I type. Everything is going smoothly, I've just been busy due to the government shutdown. I'll post some pictures on Monday or Tuesday when I get a chance.
