I am still not sure how i am going to mount them to the 1in round rack bars on my SD rack. I get how they hold the shovel and that is great. I see how they would mount to something flat but not sure how to mount them on a round bar.

I might just buy one set and mess around with a few ideas once I have them in my hands.

I was thinking about picking up some aluminum stock from the big-box hardware store and make two pieces that can sandwich together around 2 horizontal bars with a couple of bolts to keep the tension. Then, the quick fist could be mounted to the outside piece of aluminum. Does that make sense?

Yes - that pretty much what I had in my head but I wanted to get it in my hand before I really started to think. Also that would all be rust proof and could be left up there with or without the ladder.

I will order some and update this with ideas and pictures of them held up to the rack.

THANKS AGAIN-

I would not trust those quick clips thing's to hold a 65lb jack to the rack.
First bump you hit and its on the ground.

Yeah those would be for the shovel only, which has a composite handle and doesn't really weight that much, also it would only be on there when going to leave the pavement.

I found a mount for the jack at Tractor Supply.

Once I get it all worked out I will do a writeup and post some pictures.

How much was that mount at TSC? (and what do they call it? or better yet post a link)
I have been looking for one and can only find them online and for big money.

Here are the 2 knock-off HiLift jacks they sell:

Here is the handle holder they sell:

For the life of me I can't find a link to the mount I am talking about. It was in the same isle as the winches and jacks, that much I remember.

Spike - check this site out. They have instructions/directions on how to use all the different models for different applications: http://www.endroad.com/page/page/711712.htm.

Pretty cool stuff and pretty well priced too. I am going to give them a shot for the 2 shovels I carry and ask them about the jack as well.

Thats pretty cool. I am going to bookmark their site.
I am going to make my own sand ladder mounts but I think a store bought would work better for the Hi-Lift.
I am going to make my own limb risers too.

Here is a thread on a Jeep forum of a guy who made a pretty cool mount for his Hi-Lift on rack, I would change it slightly, but its a good idea: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f197/...-mount-976621/.

Also Hi-Lift makes some for round bars: http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/tube-mount.html - not sure where to buy them or how much they cost though.

Here is a link to the limb risers I made: https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ht=limb+risers - obviously these will be slightly changed when I get my Bottorf bumper with a build in tabs. And of course if I do decide to buy/build a light bar/guard then they will change again slightly.
