Default SE Stero Question

So far I'm loving my truck BUT the stero volume output blows! My observation is that the volume is noticeably louder when a CD is played, and the volume is much lower when a tape/mp3 player is played. I'm lucky if I can hear the music over the road noise while driving on the highway..... it just seems like the volume in general should go much louder. Anyone else have this issue and is there any way to enhance the volume? Does the stereo have some volume block on it or something? I do not want to swap out the deck for a aftermarket! Want to keep everything in the console stock.... but im thinking about replacing all speakers and adding subwoofers in the next year. Will adding new speakers increase the volume output?

If you are feeding an MP3 player in through a casette adapter, that's your problem. There are better ways. I used this fm modulator in the antenna in my Volvo, a Land Cruiser and an old 4 Runner and it works awesome. Just wire it up, tune in the fm receiver to the selected frequency and enjoy:

lol thats exactly what I was doing haha. I figured those cassette player adaptors are pretty cheap and easy to use so ive been using them for years. But out of all the vehicles ive never had an issue with low volume until now with my 04 Disco. But ill look into your suggestion. Thanks for the tip.
