hey guys, my SE7 is an SE6 for the moment... once locked in the down position i cant seem to get my right rear seat to unfold and lock upright. it just stays locked down. stupid me tried to force it and broke the handle. is there a common issue that keeps the seat from unfolding? id like to get it fixed. if i cant fix it ill sell the seat and get a cargo compartment or something. thanks gents

If you look under the seat, there is a cable that runs from the latch to the handle on the back. Mine is broken so I either grab the cable from under the seat and pull it, or use a screwdriver to release the latch and tilt the seat up for better access. Same goes for the tilt latch.

You can take that seat out with four bolts and then you can work on it in the garage. As long as i know i can get the seat up and down, I don't worry about it...too many other things that need attention!

 

My 99 does this when the seat isn't fully locked down. I'll bet if you tug up on it, it will pop up. Just slam it down a bit harder and i'll bet the seat back will unfold.
