Seat heater fail
So the drivers seat heater in the DII is starting to fail
For the past couple of weeks I've been feeling a hot spot in my left hip, before I turn it off.
Today, I cranked the car to warm up, turn the seat on and go grab my coffee. When I come back out, I smell something electrical... lucky me!
Any tips? Suggestions?

New element costs around $60 available at the dealer or the usual on line rover parts suppliers.
The bottom seat squab is secured with plastic "J hooks" and hog rings. Removal can be tedious but its an hour or so depending on if you clip the hogrings and replace with new ones or try to open and reuse the ones you have.
Some folks try to repair the part of the element that is broken. It should be obvious as it will be near the burn mark. Just butt splice or solder the conductor back together and test.
The RAVE has a section on seat disassembly if you can't figure it out.
