I usually fit the wires to the coils bolted very loosely to the lower intake while the upper is still off, then slide the upper int place and bolt it down, and fit wires to the tabs at the back of the upper.

Hi

While I am about it... are both 3 way plugs for the coil packs black as there's also a grey 3 way connector at the rear of the engine.

I believe both are black. I just worked on one this weekend, but it was mainly by feel.

If memory serves correctly, the grey plug goes to the Idle air motor which connects to the upper intake via roughly 1" hoses.
