Default Secondary air pump????

I read on one of the posts here: "The Secondary Air Injection (SAI) pump can be noisy, clean the air filter to it every 6 months" Where is that? How do I do it?

Default Changing/cleaning air pump filter

The filter is inside the pump housing, at the back end of the pump, within the black plastic. pop off cover that covers the end of pump, about 1/3rd of the overall length of the pump. 'The easiest way, I think, is to take the pump off, unplug the electrical connector, remove the air line at the pump itself, take it off, and on a workbench remove the cover at end of pump, within it you will find the filter. Just wash the filter in detergent and water, but let it air dry fully before putting it back in pump. Reinstall pump, and bngo you have good clean filter again, so should have no noise. If you still have noise, maybe you have bad bearings in pump motor?
