Default Security system question when removing ground earth lead

Question about procedures from RAVE manual on sump removal. Getting ready to do gaskets on Timing chain (pulling things off) I pulled the exhaust manifold last night, curious because I found no cracks but had bad puffing coming around the manifold. Hopefully it was the seal. However, I took the cross member off under the sump. That was as far as I got last night. Now the rave says to remove the earth ground off the battery. I did that but while I am at work today I am wondering if I made a mistake. seems that I have heard people have trouble with their security if left off for too long and needing some kind of code or something to put in. Is a problem like that possible? I probably won't be able to work on it again until Friday night.

Open hood. Hold down alarm switch. Then attach battery. Helpful if you have key fob, may have to arm/disarm like 5 times. I actually unplugged my hood alarm switch to prevent this sort of problem, I've got insurance, if you steal it you won't get far and we can follow the trail of Rotella.

I do not have the key fob. Just 3 of the regular keys. Yes, I just found a third one hidden under the vehicle while working on it this past weekend Do you just disarm it by turning the key back multiple times like when its super locked? I actually have forgotten that procedure even though I have had to do it before.

I do know where the alarm switch is so I'm good to go on that. So do I need a second person to attach battery while I hold the button down?If it goes off, it should echo quite well since its in my garage.

Default local plug wires

Is there not a place to get 8mm wires locally? I found out you can't get Kingsbornes locally so went to check what else I could get and 2 different part suppliers act like I'm talking a foreign language. I want the kingsbornes but paying 13 dollars for shipping seems ridiculous. Was just going to go ahead and do it while I was doing other work on the truck.

Any ideas on where or how to tell the parts store what one needs for 8mm plug wires so I can get them locally?

Just order them online it'll be faster and better to get the correct plugs than some standard part store plugs. Even if you did ask them for magnacore/sti they'd most likely have to order and have them shipped anyways and it would cost you more.

Just unplug the hood switch till you get the battery hooked back up..

Maybe don't ever plug it back in...
