Selling my Disco
Agreed modified vehicles go for way less than what you have in them.
As far as the passat vs a4 thing if you don't mind not having a vw go for that they are cheaper to get serviced. I have an Audi and I love it but it's like the rover in that parts cost their weight in gold.

So after a lot of convincing and the fact my mom wanted a land rover she's trading me her toyota to sell for the audi and she's taking my rover. being it has a 131k miles and she commutes 5 days a week 30 miles a day. we baby the truck when it comes to maintenance. she doesn't have to worry about gas and i know rover reliability and all but is that good for her commute how many miles can we expect until it needs the engine rebuilt?
The only thing cooler on a Jetta than an Audi A4 are the blue dashlights.
+1 the a4 isn't on a jetta chassis its on the passat. but there is minor differences between a passat and a4 which make the a4 a lot better.
Let's see if I can throw another rock at this hornets nest. Some will argue Lexus/Infinity/Acura are better than Toyota/Nissan/Honda...same thing here. Whether they're better or not, in MOST cases I don't feel the hike in price is justified. For those who disagree, you probably have a lot more disposable income than I do...it's your money so go nuts! Just to clarify, older Audi's...whole different ralley-bred ball game!

Just let someone else buy it first... then the prices seem to even out. I've had a few hondas and acuras over the years, the last being a 2004 TL, and I was able to get it cheaper than a 2004 Accord, even though they are pretty much the same thing, and the TL has more bells and whistles.
