Default Selling old cats for scrap

I have heard from a few people that the stock cats off my 2000 D2 are worth a few bucks. I've heard everything from $80.00 for both to $150 each. Has anyone sold their old cats? how much did you get? Thanks for any help.

I haven't sold any yet, but yes, they do bring good money, that's why people are stealing them. Just call some local metal recyclers and ask what they are paying.
Because people are stealing them, be prepared to present your ID, have your picture taken and to be finger printed. They may also want the VIN of the car they came from.

Interesting. I called a few places in town today. As long as my cats are in good shape, meaning the internal parts are still there, I'm probably looking at anywhere from $20 to $80 for both. I think I could get more than this but i'm no metal salvage guy. Any ideas on what I should do? The metal salvage guys must sell to someone. I need to cut out the middle man.

That's a ripoff. You could get at least $35, send them to me and I'll pay you!
