Looking at your picture...

The ps pulley and the wp pulley look aligned.

The idler over the ps pulley is not BUT NEITHER IS THE AC.

What I would do...

Remove the belt. Tap the wp and ps pump pulleys in the center and see if they move back in. I had a ps pulley come a few inches forward once because I had the belt on wrong. I have never noticed the wp do this and I dont know how it could.

As per your pics, there is something wrong.

Take a straight edge and lay it along the side of your pulleys. Take a picture.

I read in another really old thread that was never finished or given a closing solution that the power steering pump can begin to fall apart after time and in turn push the pulley coward causing a misalignment. Does this sound like something you all have heard before. Because it would make sense to me at this point.

Open (popped out)

Closed (simply pushed in by hand)

Back in alignment

okay so I figured out why it’s out of alignment. My power steering pulley was pushed out making it off alignment.

i can literally move it in and out by hand with ease.

does any one know why this would happen and I’m assuming I will need to replace it correct?

If it's not leaking or making noise, run it.
Mine did that too, I pushed it back in, aligned my serp and it's been that way since. If it starts leaking out the front replace it.

In your pic, it looked like the wp was also out of whack, is it or not?

My water pump is okay.

How long have you ran it since you pushed it back in.

Interesting well I bought the pump already so I think I’ll install it for peace of mind. Hopfully I don’t mess anything else up in the process. lol

New pump is in along with a new tensioner, and idler pulleys. Filled her up with CHF 11s and everything seems to run good. I’ve only driven it about half a mile but I can already tell a big difference.

I decided to take the old steering pump apart and noticed a very small piece of shrapnel. Have no idea where it’s from I’m thinking some kind of pin or rod but it didn’t look good.

job was easy considering you have all the right tools.

amazon had every part I needed.

thanks for all the input.

if it blows up I’ll make sure to let you guys know.

Were the bolts on the back of the pump extremely loose?
