Default Serpentine Belt Replacement

I am going to be replacing my serpentine belt (2000 Disco II, 92,000 miles) and the RAVE CD says that you have to remove the viscous fan prior to replacing the belt. Is this really the case?

Also, should I be replacing any other items at the same time as the belt is being replaced?

Thanks,

No you dont need to remove the fan, the belt will fit over it, you will need to remove the fan cowling though.
Make sure that you get the belt routing right or else you will have charging problems.

If you have not replaced the belt tensioner and the 2 idler pulleys, might be a good time to do it, they have a high failure rate.
Also inspect the water pump, the steering hoses and the coolant hoses.
Good luck,
