Default service engine light

my service engine light came on friday and my disco 1 was shuddering a little bit while idling and now when i fired her up she is no longer shuddering and the engine is pulling fine but my service engine light is still on does any one have any ideas on what may have caused this and how do i fix it.

Are you sure it is a service light instead of a check engine light, you have both.
If it is driving poorly I would think your check engine light is on and should be checked.

yes it is a service light that is on i know that i have both i have delt with with both the check engine is amber and the service is red any ideas on how to solve this service engine light would be great

Do a search on this or any Rover forums for this problem and you should find how to reset the light.

It is an emissions reminder. There is a relay under the passenger side of your dash. Poke a paper clip in the hole behind the LR sricker. There are pics on D-web in the tech section.

Might put your year and mileage in your signature. It really helps diagnose a lot and then we dont have to ask...
