Default Service Engine Soon

Random one here. My Service warning light seems to have a life of its own. I initially thought it was not cleared fter my service, so I cleared it with the scanner. Then, I thought perhaps it was tied to some fault with the 3 amigos issue but after replacing the faulty ABS sensor they went out as did the service light. Now it's come on again? it doesn't come on consistently and sometimes it will go out on its own. Occasionally, if it's on, adding a small amount of engine oil IS required when checking the dipstick, and it will go out again. Now it's back on and all fluids are good. Any ideas?

Hi. Thank you for your questions.

First, the SES light has nothing to do with regular maintenance or fluid levels. It mostly indicates engine management codes, and also a secondary code related to ABS (Three Amigos) faults.

To know what's going on with the SES lights, you really need to get the diagnostic codes read. Any of the major auto parts chain stores will read the codes for free. Please get the codes read and let us know what they are for us to be able to help you.

Many thanks. I'll check the codes again and post the result.
