Default Service engine soon Disc II

Hello all! I got a 2003 Disco II with about 90K and I got a new service engine soon light on with the following codes. p0130 oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 p0171 bank 1 too lean and p1171. I replaced the drivers side upstream oxygen sensor last year so it is almost new. Does anyone know what I may need to replace? Should I replace the other three sensors? Or could the catalytic converter need replaced?

Thanks

You might want to check your trans fluid level.

for now anyway, the cats are probably ok......that would be a different set of codes(LOL)
when was the last tune up ? ( plugs and wires, injector cleaner) it could just need a new sensor but many times a good tune up will straighten it out

You should first check for oil or grease in the 02 connection, if dry then replace both front 02's at the same time to make sure both banks have even air to fuel ratios.

"and p1171" can mean a MAF issue or vacuum leak after the MAF

If you did not put in a BOSCH O2 sensor then your results may vary.

I would do a few things..
Firstly,
assure the exhaust manifold bolts to the heads - are not loose and there is no exhaust leaks there.

Also the Y pipes - no leaks.

I would replace the O2 sensor with a Bosch.

I would also put a scanner on and look at the live data on the O2 sensors.
One may be lazy.

The front O2's oscillate.
The rear O2's don't and put out a constant voltage when
the engine is under load.

The 171 is caused by a failed 02 sensor. First check for oil or grease in the connection, if none then replace both front 02's and get back on the road.

2003 Land Rover discovery 127,000 miles

I have the same error code. p0130. Bank One, sensor one.

I feel reasonably confident I could change these out. Or as Disco Mike says, "check for oil and grease and other contaminants".

Where are these sensors located? Is there a link that would show a schematic of the parts?
