Exclamation SES Flashing and Disco Shuddering

I was driving my 04 Disco SE yesterday when all of a sudden the SES came on and started flashing while the Disco started doing a shudder. It seemed like the car couldn't not engage into the higher gears. I have not rebuilt my front driveshaft yet since I only have 45K on the Disco. What could be the problem?

That is not your drive shaft although with your time on this forum you are passed due on the front drive shaft rebuild. Umm...has it thrown any codes? When was it last serviced?

What are the codes? Are all your gear boxes full of oil (front, rear, transfer and transmission)?

How about wires, you may be due for some magnecors are you getting misfires?

Thats why i asked when it was last serviced because even with mag wires if the job wasn't done right it can cause these symptoms down the road. i.e. partially plugged in wires, loose intake arm, partially plugged in maf sensor

Right?

Yes when my wires went bad and it was humid out it would not get into the higher gears until things heated up.

I just got back the codes read.
Here they are:
P1174
P0441
P0300
P0301
P0306
P1300

You're right about the front driveshaft rebuilt I'm doing that before the week is over. The codes are all related according to the scanner. You're probably right about changing the wires, the engine keeps on misfiring on 1 and 6. Just got an oil change last week with 5W40-All Temperature. Could that have created a problem also? I'm pretty upset right now because all this came out of nowhere!

No the oil weight is fine. Change those wires to magnecor 8mm's, it's like magic. You may need new plugs but try the wires first. Apex Performance has the best prices.

Where can I get both? Does the local auto parts store carry them both? Autozone?

http://www.apexperformance.net/cartg...t.asp?scat=306

Buy the 8mm magnecors or the OEM wires but the Magnecors are better and cheaper but still $85. Don't scrimp on this part just get the Magnecors from Apex they will come fast.
