Setting brake pads question

Default Setting brake pads question

So I wasn't really thinking and installed the front rotors and pads only today. Did the drive where I went from 40-10 5 times then 35-5 5 times etc. problem is I am doing the rears tomorrow and have to repeat the process.
A) can I do the rears after just bedding the fronts? So soon?

B) wait a couple hundred miles and then do the rears to bed them with hard stops?

C) instructions say I can drive normally after the bedding so maybe it's ok to repeat the process again?

Advice please.

You're overthinking this. Go ahead and do the rears.

I've redone my pads a few times. I just get in and go. Don't worry about it.

I think the fronts do the most work. I agree with you. For some reason I was thinking once you bed the pads you can't hard brake for a couple hundred miles. Thanks.

Thanks! Doing the brakes because I think the last rotor turn thinned the fronts enough to shimmy.

Went with the new ceramic pads and slotted and drilled rotors.

Hope to take a break from repairs for a while. :-). I'll make my way to your neck of the woods maybe this summer to say hello. Thanks to all here for all the tips

You and me both! I'm close to a reliable vehicle. Maybe I'll get there tomorrow when I take the whole thing apart again.

There is a great place in Gilmer, Texas that has mild to medium trails and I have always wanted to do the whole Kiamichi trail. There are so many Texas people on the forums. Maybe someday. Anyway, I'd love to meet and both rovers be behaving at the same time.

Rear rotors and pads installed this morning. Bedded them in. All seems well.

I would love to live in Texas!...well all except for the Buckeyes being here.

Plenty of Buckeyes here, Buckeye. In fact, the Gilmer mascot is the Buckeye! Hahhaa. There is a large Ohio expat community here.
