Default Shift Interlock Solenoid delete?

On a similar topic to my last post about the Transfer Case Solenoid, now that I’m here should I remove the Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid? I think that the engine won’t start unless the Transmission is in Park. I’m wondering if the hassle of a Transmission Solenoid failure outweighs the usefulness of it? Any thoughts?
Maybe I should just drill a hole in the Interior Trim Panel that fits over the shifter so that I can easily push in a pin to depress it if it fails?

The transmission one is so easy to manipulate I just leave em alone if it fails it's like 5sec to gain access to it.

Thanks again Best. I do realize that now since I’ve put it back together.

Can’t you just put the car in “Transport Mode” and this electrically is disabled forever? Just a thought.
