Default shock choice

I recently purchased a 1" spacer lift for my D2. I am getting new shocks for it soon and am wondering if oem replacements are ok to use with the spacer or do I need extended ones? Also what are the biggest size tire can I fit with the lift? Thanks

OEM length should be fine. The shock mount is actually raised in the front with a spacer. The rear will not be raised, but it's just an inch so you'll be fine.

Biggest tire you should try to fit will be a 32", you might be able to fit a 33" with some work. I've got 265/65/18s on mine at stock height, which is essentially a 32". That would be a 265/75/16 if you have 16" rims.

If your suspension is shot, and that is why you are upgrading, you should consider that your springs may well be past their prime too.

Putting new shocks on old springs will wear out your shocks prematurely and you will be wondering why your ride still sucks.

I agree totally with Dave! You should look into replacing both at the same time if you want a good ride, proper ride height and your shocks to last.
