Default Shock / spring installation

After going over the how-to guides Im planning to install terrafirma shocks and ome springs later this afternoon. How long should this normally take? (If any Rover-heads in the Portland area want to help out there's free beer in it for ya )

It took me about 8hrs to replace mine. Probably 2hrs of it was dealing with the heim joints on my Fox shox. So I guess 6 hrs to do the Supension and brake lines. I have to pull my shox an install poly bushing instead of the heims, I hope o get that done in 3-4 hrs.

If you have a friend help, you can do in in under 4 hours as long as you have a floor jack and a jack stand.
Have you watched the Lucky 8 how to video yet?

Yeah having a hand helps. I did it solo.

How big of a lift is it? I installed the terrafirma 3" with help from a friend, with the car up on a lift, and the rear springs nearly kicked my butt. Even using the bottle jack trick wasn't quite enough, because the watts link on the left side maxes out before there is enough room.

Normally the rear can be done in under an hour, the front more like 3,
What about brake lines, will you be replacing them?

I imagine the fronts would be even MORE of a pain in places where it gets rusty. Replacing the brake lines is a great idea. I replaced mine with extended braided lines at the same time it did the shocks and springs and the brakes feel noticeably better. I do have the "better" TRW calipers, since I've got an 03...

Alright guys -- finished the front, rear is going to have to wait for tomorrow. Only damage is a black and blue fingernail. 1 1/2 inch lift with OME 777 springs. Went for a spin around the block and hit some good sized potholes at speed to test it out. Very pleased with the setup so far it seems to soak up the bumps without being harsh, and should just get better with rear shocks. Its a 200 percent improvement over the worn out shocks. Didn't order brake lines, but that would be a nice future upgrade. Actually don't mind the stance with the stock rear height..
