SHOCKS
How hard is it to replace shocks on a D1? It doesnt look very hard and looking at RAVE it doesnt look hard in there either. But some opinions would be nice, thank guys.
easy, just remember to remove the top of the shock tower for the front. You don't have to pull the spring. I have heard of people getting all the way through it and then realizing..
OK, will do. I am going to do it next weekend at my uncles. He has a 30x40 pole barn with heat and a good jack and stands.
So I will soak the nuts Thursday and Friday next week so it will all be ready Saturday.

Are you still running on your original springs and using blocks, bad move. Nothing like lifting up your top heavy truck even more on sagging springs, you'll just sway back and forth.
If you want to lift it, do it right and drop in some coils and shocks.
By the way, what shocks are you going to use?

Bilstein's are great shocks and if they were long enough to work on a Disco with a lift, they would sell alot more of them. They are actually 1/2 inch shorter then the factory shocks and will over extend.
So back to my question, when oare you going to replace your shot coils, how much of a lift are you looking for and then decide on shocks.

I am not doing a lift. Nor am I replacing the springs. I am only doing the shocks. They are Gabriel shocks and I bought them from AutoZone for $120 with a lifetime warranty.
A guy in my LR club is running them with OME sprigs and they work great. Even with his 2" lift.
