Nice looking truck but at 9.5K bucks way high on price even by UK standards.

I don't know the US market too well but in the UK as a gas burner it's worth a lot less than an oiler TD5 but I reckon the right price for a 2003 D2 (even in Vienne green, same as mine) should be around $4K - 4.5K so it seems well overpriced. If you are seriously going for it take someone with you who knows their onions on D2's and equipped with a diagnostic tool to read the codes otherwise it'll be like taking pennies off a baby.

There are two scenarios at work at that dealer. Either they bought it for 2-3k and will be ecstatic to get 5k for it, or they spent way to much on mechanic work to make it sellable and they need near that ridiculous price tag to break even. My guess is the former, you could walk in with cash and take It for 5k and they would be glad to be rid of it.

I still wouldn't touch it with a 30ft poll. Like many guys on here, I cruise Craigslist on a daily basis and I see handfuls of non-running discos with very presentable interiors and exteriors, that you can buy for pennies. And there are just as many decent looking ones that run and drive. For 5k max you could have one fantastic disco and a mechanical spare or a parts revenue source after you've taken everything you need for the driver.

In my area $5k tops from private owner and that would be pushing it. It is damn clean looking though. No way I'd pay $9k though.

For $10K get an LR3.
Never a D2.
Engine on the D2 is a weak point.
Plus the locks in all the doors - power locks will go bad.
