Should I have this towed?
I bought this (disco II, 115,000 miles) when I had time to do the research and work on it. Now I am in graduate school and have no where to work on it. I am taking it in to have the radiator and hoses replaced. The shop is about 30 miles away. When I went to put coolant in today I noticed that the hose is bulging(see pictures below). I was wondering if a more experienced person could tell me if they think that driving it (30 miles) is a safe bet or if I should have it towed to the shop. Thanks for your time.

That's a lot of work. Why replace radiator? And how often are you having to add coolant? Major? But looking at that hose, I would classify it as part of the genus "may pop", as in "may pop any minute".
I first noticed the leak when I was driving from colorado to california for school, I have taken it to 2 radiator shops which both agree that it cannot be repaired because of where the leak is. I had to leave all of my tools in storage in Colorado which is why I am not attempting this repair on my own. I am adding about 2 cups of fluid a week which I would consider major and it seems to be getting worse. I am planning on taking the car to Cerrones in Redwood city (if anyone has dealt with them I would love to hear about your experience). Thanks for your replies.

You are running on borrowed time with that original top radiator hose with the bleed screw in the hose and not in the T fitting as it was later redesigned. Spend the $50+ dollars for a new hose as soon as possible. Ask me how I know ... You're probably good for the 30 miles but please don't press your luck any longer than necessary.
