Default Should I be scared of a very high mile D2 thats looks perfect?

I have found a D2 for sale, 2004 HSE package which is why i'm so interested. The truck has 200k on it and most of its life was spent in mass. Before ending up in CA. It has service records for all of its owners. Most of them were at import shops or the dealer but their are some from places like "jims garage". The interior looks like its brand new there aren't even stretch marks on the seat. Besides the normal engine issue that plague them wall whats else do you need to worry about near the 200k and up. I plan to take this car to college but wont be a necessity for me in case it breaks down. If its up near 200k and the records show nothing major went is this a good sign? Or does it mean i'm closer to a major whoops.

Personally, I'd rather have one high mileage with good service records. If it's made it that long in good condition you know it's been taken care of, especially with those service records.

I would check very carefully underneath for rust, but other than that if it runs well and has a service history it's probably a ok bet if the price is on point.

Yep check the frame/body for rust, and if it's good I say go for it. Like the other guys said if she's got high mileage it's been driven and well maintained vs low miles and sitting behind a barn to be drug out to be sold with "low miles".

My 02 Kalahari has 230K and everything electrical/mechanical is near perfect and it runs excellent. The only issue with her is the roof paint is starting to fade, but paint is easy vs all the other stuff!!

I don't see any mention on the Carfax re: head gaskets being done so that's on the to do list ASAP. I also put little faith in a Carfax report. As AR mentioned look hard for rust especially on the frame.

And if you are serious about buying this or another Land Rover GET IT INSPECTED by a LR Indy Shop!!! It will be the best money you spend in your life.

And sorry, but this or any '04 with 200K for $6995 ......NO Way.> https://www.santamonicasuvs.com/inve...ANTA-MONICA-CA

Unless it was a G4 Trek or Westminster = yes $6995.00 is on the high end of the scale (not counting Ebay's 15-20K wonders....), but you do get what you pay for sometimes. I'd drop the 6995.00 in a heartbeat if it needed absolutely nothing and was mint inside/out. Vienna Green & the rare Tundra interior = SWEET and it's an HSE.

Mileage is not the determining factor in a vehicle. How it was maintained is the key. That thing looks very well kept. If I needed another D2 I'd honestly be jumping at that one as long as it wasn't rusted out. It's had it's head gaskets replaced at least once. I made it to 162K before needing them done once, but most of the time around 100K they get done. Just because Carfax doesn't list it doesn't mean it wasn't done. Some shops = won't show up on Carfax.

People make fun of my 230K D2 all the time (people that have no clue blinker fluid or a muffler bearing are fake) and they trade their vehicles in before 50K.... "If" I wanted to I could go get a 100K gauge cluster, and call it a day since anything after 10 years (I think) goes exempt on the mileage report in TX.... However I like that my Kalahari has done 230K and I hope to see it pass 300K someday. As long as the body doesn't rust out, she's gonna last a long time.
