If you have an aluminum radiator, stick with Dex-cool... you don't ever mix types. The acids create a certain ionization that works only with aluminum and provides the BEST corrosion protection. The other colors have nothing to do with "one better than the other", it's a matter of correct application.

Just don't let Dex-cool get low. It will allow more oxidation internally and allow for deposits if it gets low, as will any G-05 or G12. There are eleventy-five thousand factory Dex-Cool cars with well over 100k miles and flawless cooling systems. I live in Florida and run a 60% distilled water 40% Dex-Cool mix. Water absorbs heat better than anti freeze.

I just replaced my head gaskets 10k miles ago and the coolant looked in new condition, and held a perfect current!

You don't just have an aluminum radiator you have an entire aluminum engine...

You can believe what you want of course but IMO hybrid OAT coolants like G05 offer better aluminum corrosion protection. That being said even traditional green coolant offers perfectly acceptable protection if you flush your coolant regularly.

If Dex-Cool is so good then why does Land Rover say to change it every 36 months or 45,000 miles?

No matter the coolant you use just change it every 2 years no matter the miles, its cheap insurance.
