I'm looking for your mounting solutions, what you ended up going with, and why.

I'm also interested in how you chose to route power, and the modifications necessary.

 

I have six lights out in the garage waiting to be installed, two on the winch bumper and four on the roof rack. The roof rack light wiring will go up the windshield A pillar under the plastic cover. I have two cruise control switches to use in the blank positions on the left instrument panel shroud. The cruise switches are click-on/click-off. I really should get around to installing all that stuff. Your poll didn't let me choose both bumper and roof rack.

 

This is very subjective and depends a lot on your intended use.
For me, lights on the roof rack were pointless. Too much light cast on the hood and too much trouble/wind drag for the 2-3 times per year I'd actually use them. 8 million lights really only help if you're the trail leader, otherwise you're just blinding the guy in front of you.
I settled on two Hella 4000 Cornering beams mounted on my bumper. Those and my high beams do just fine for Northern WI and Michigan backroads. I'm not running the Baja so I don't need pencil beams. I like my Hellas because of the shape, but a 6-12" LED lightbar is probably more than most people realistically need.

I have an Aux Fuse Block by Blue Sea that gets power straight from the battery. The lights have a relay and run through the firewall into the cab and are controlled by a 2nd stock Fog Light switch. The lights are always hot and can be turned on when the truck is off.

 

Needs a 4th option....

But I wouldn't listen to Fisheh because I'm pretty sure he's never driven at night(past his bed time).

The only reason I have lights on my roof is because I have a roof rack, and they kinda look goofy without lights on them(SD style, other racks can pull it off)

 

I went with a 40" dual row led light bar, they say it's a flood and spot combo but it's mostly flood and 2 55w ipf's that came on the truck when I got it. I like the light bar cause it turns night time into day time! But that's for off-road use only and utility. The bumper lights work great at night instead of high beams. I like the low beams and bumper light cause it illuminates the road directly in front of you but also throws light a down the road a little bit.

 

Crap. I forgot to have a combo bumper and rack choice.

I've got the factory driving lights right now, but they cut off with high beams(as expected). I was thinking about fabricating a light bar mount for my factory rails(not like I can put anything else on that front couple inches). Anything on top makes me concerned about weather proofing, but with the sunroof drain leaks I have as it is... Maybe I shouldn't be too worried.

 

Ive got factory lights and two extra lights on the brush board for a little extra light when there's nobody directly in front of me on the road. They are wired to a relay which is run from the battery with an in line fuse, and turned on by a switch I got from radio shack and installed on my instrument cluster shroud.

4x9 inch lights on the rack, two 4x4 on the bumper and led headlights.

Its quite bright and the light out put is great compared to the low price point leds bring.
