Default Ski Racks

I am curious to know what you guys are using as a ski rack for the Disco 2 owners. I noticed the factory rails are short and can't see the how to fit skis on the supplied length.

I dont ski but I have a Yak Rack for carrying things on the roof.
I have the crossbars, they fit nicly, but the truck wont fit into the garage with the rack on though.
Other guys carry surfboards, I think they too use a Yakama Rack, but I am sure they will chime in and give you more specifics.

I have the rack extensions on mine, with Yakima cross bars and I use an 8ft fiberglass packasport box for skis and snow board. I've said this before, but I can't understand why Land Rover didn't simply put the extensions stock with their vehicle.

I bought the Thule Super High Foot adapters to use with my Yakima load warrior and they work great. Very stable and you can move them the length of the roof without it affecting the sunroofs. Those in conjunction with the ski/ snowboard racks should work great. Another option that may work better if you are considering height clearance is the hitch mounted ski and bike carriers that I believe both yakima and thule make. You can go to their website and enter the various options you are looking for and they will provide a list of compatable components. I have used both companies and think they are very comparable in price and such the only difference being that the yakima gutter clamps do not have the clearance for a discovery.

Thanks for the replies, I have seen the roof rail extensions, but wondered if it was an easy install.
